A September 11th Message from Mayor Tom Giordano 
My Dear Neighbors & Friends,
Today across our country, communities like Waldwick are joining together to remember and to never forget September 11, 2001.
On that bright sunny day 2,977 people from 93 nations lost their lives in New York, at the Pentagon and on Flight #93.
We pray today for all who lost their lives and those that they left behind. We pray for one of our own residents John Griffin who left home that day and never returned. May his family find comfort in knowing his memory will never be forgotten here in Waldwick.
We pray and thank all the emergency personnel who responded that day; they did not worry about themselves but worried about others. They had one goal and that was to protect and rebuild their country.
May we as a community continue to remember September 11th so that future generations will understand the devastating loss and the sacrifices made by so many brave and courageous people.
Despite the horror and tragedy of September 11, our country remains a shelter of peace, a symbol of freedom, a beacon light of compassion and justice to the downtrodden and oppressed of the world.
May we teach our children to learn and to think, to consider and to reason, to be courageous in thought and indeed, and to nurture hearts of wisdom that they may do battle against fear, hatred and bigotry using weapons of the spirit and loving hearts.
Out of the ruins of the World Trade Center came hope and a new sense of determination to defend and protect ourselves and to be stronger, to rebuild and be complete and powerful again. Our American spirit cannot be destroyed, it has to live within each one of us.
May we remember September 11, 2001, as a day when we stood up to evil, looked it in the eye, chased it away and on September 12, 2001 we all became one.
