Today is National Police Woman Day. September 12th is a day that acknowledges and celebrates the women who have dedicated their lives to enforce law around the country. Sheriff Ricky T. Buchanan and our staff want to recognize all of the women in law enforcement but particularly those who serve as Deputy Sheriffs, Detectives and Detention Officers at the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.
