INCIDENT: VC 2800.2(a) - Evading
LOCATION: State Highway 18 and Central Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Pedro Antonio Lugo, 54-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Saturday, September 9, 2023, at approximately 2:38 a.m., Deputy J. Hiromoto initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at State Highway 18 and Central Road, in the town of Apple Valley.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Pedro Antonio Lugo, failed to yield to Deputy Hiromoto. Lugo drove in and out of residential areas of east Apple Valley at 50 to 60 mph, attempting to evade the deputy. The vehicle came to a stop at Nicola Road and Eyota Road, at which time Lugo exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
Lugo was apprehended by deputies and arrested. He was booked at High Desert Detention Center for felony evading. Lugo is currently being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
