On September 12, 2023 at 11:16 P.M., a Simi Valley Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Sycamore Dr. and Niles St. in Simi Valley.

Upon contacting the driver, the Officer noted suspicious behavior and asked for consent to search the vehicle for weapons or contraband, which he was granted. During the subsequent search, the Officer located suspected methamphetamine and a loaded unregistered handgun. The driver, Graciela Rodriguez, 22 from Los Angeles was placed under arrest for being in possession of a controlled substance while armed and booked and Ventura County Jail.
