Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Bomb Threat At Ann Mullen Middle School 9-12-2023
On Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at approximately 8:50 am, a Gloucester Township Police School Resource Officer was advised by Ann Mullen Middle School officials that a note was located in a bathroom that stated, there is a bomb in the building.
School officials ordered an evacuate the school, and pre-school students were temporarily transferred away from the scene to Timber Creek High School as per emergency plans. Additional Gloucester Township Police Officers responded and were assisted by Camden County Sheriff's Department and Cherry Hill Police Department explosive detection K-9's. The K-9's conducted interior and exterior searched for explosives checks of the school. No devices were found during the search and school officials repopulated the building shortly after. Gloucester Township Fire Department Station 85 and Inspira EMS also assisted.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of a juvenile student who was charged with False Public Alarms, a crime of the second degree. The identity of the juvenile student is being withheld due to the student's age.
No one was injured, however one juvenile suffered a minor medical emergency during the evacuation. The juvenile was treated on the scene by EMS and released tothe parents.
