DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Dick’s Sporting Goods for a possible shoplifting. Prior to police arrival, the suspect had left the store, but was located by Ptl. A. Ventura near Wegmans. He was stopped and identified as Emanuel Garay. While he was being detained, an Asset Protection Specialist from Target approached and told officers that Garay had shoplifted from their store. Items stolen from Target were found in a reusable bag that Garay had in his possession. Garay was charged with shoplifting and has a date pending with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Best Buy for a shoplifting in progress. Prior to patrol arrival, the shoplifter had left the store. Sgt. W. Silcox found Kaylynn Bradley at the bus stop and detained her. Investigation found that Bradley selected 12 Roku streaming sticks (valued at $600) and concealed them into a bag. She then left the store without paying. Bradley was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS:  While Ptl. Connell was conducting a radar operation on Route 1 for speeding, he heard the loud revving of an engine approaching his position from behind. He then observed a gray Dodge Durango SUV speed past his stationary location at 90 mph. While catching up to the speeding SUV, he observed it make unsafe lane changes as it weaved in and out of slower traffic. Ptl. Connell initiated stop on the SUV, and during the stop, he determined that the driver, Lukas Brecko was DWI. Brecko was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to Target for a shoplifter being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation determined that Sara Jaruszewski filled up a shopping cart full of groceries and merchandise. She went to the self check-out and paid for $79.00 worth of groceries, but failed to scan $334.64 worth of goods and then attempted to leave the store. Jaruszewski was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to Wegmans for three suspects inside who had previously shoplifted from the store. Investigation found that on 8/11 at 9:07 PM, Justice Hill, Zyasia Hall, and Dashawn Smith selected seafood, alcoholic beverages, and other items valued at $427.92, which they put into a shopping cart and then pushed out of the store without paying. Then on 8/13 at 12:11 PM, Hall and Hill selected $345.78 worth of alcoholic beverages and food, and left the store with the items without paying. Officers located the trio in the store and took them into custody for the past shopliftings. Smith was also found to have three warrants for his arrest from Trenton. After processing at WWPD Headquarters, Hall and Hill were released pending future court dates, while Smith was turned over to the Trenton Police Department on their warrants.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to McCaffrey’s for a shoplifting. Ptl. Caulfield arrived on scene to find that Poonam Gulati had been detained by store associates. Investigation found that Gulati had exited the store through the entrance with a cart full of groceries and flowers that she did not pay for. She also had flowers she had previously shoplifted already in her car. Gulati was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

Arrested: Madalin-Cosmin Nicola
                Resident of Baltimore, MD 21230
 
DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to Wegmans for a shoplifting in progress. The shoplifter, Madalin-Cosmin Nicola, concealed $2,848.14 worth of merchandise from the Health & Beauty aisles into reusable shopping bags that he then put into a shopping cart. Nicola then left the cart full of goods in the aisle and left the store. A few minutes later, he returned to the store and went directly to the cart full of concealed merchandise. He pushed the cart out toward the exit and even put some additional items into it before leaving the store without paying. Wegmans Asset Protection attempted to stop Nicola in the parking lot, but he abandoned the cart full of goods and ran away as officers arrived on scene. Officers followed Nicola as he ran through the parking lot and to the back of the Burlington store where he finally gave up and surrendered to pursuing officers. Nicola was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

Investigation found that Gabriel Maya had taken a price tag from a pillow valued at $19.99, and used that tag at the self-checkout to purchase a comforter set valued at $99.99. Maya was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Siani was detailed to Target for an employee who was being detained for shoplifting. Investigation found that on seven (7) different occasions, Monica Mackson, who was employed by Target as a cashier, under-rang customer’s purchases. On each occasion, she scanned all the items that the customer was buying, but before she completed the sale, she voided multiple items (as many as 16 items in one transaction) that the customer no longer had to pay for, but took with them. The total loss to Target from all of these transactions was $627.82. Mackson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future court dates.
