SUSPECT(S): Francisco Diaz, 18-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA

SUMMARY: On August 23, 2023, the suspect, Francisco Diaz was involved in an assault with a firearm on a person in the city of San Bernardino, CA. When deputies arrived on scene, Diaz had fled the area and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, August 24, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police along with detectives from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Central Station and the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) responded to a residence located near the 1400 block of Highland, in the city of Needles. The suspect's vehicle was located parked in the driveway of the residence and public announcements were conducted to instruct occupanrs to exit the residence. The suspect, Francisco Diaz, exited and was taken into custody without further incident.
