DETAILS: On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 11:29PM, Officers were sent on a suspicious vehicle parked in the alley behind Westgate Mall and the caller had seen some people looking in the windows of JC Penney’s. As officers arrived, dispatch received a call from the alarm company that the alarms were activated at JC Penney’s. Officers were able to form a perimeter of the business and area. There was a suspect seen inside breaking into the jewelry cases. The suspect came out a short time later and attempted to run from the officers. K9 Sniper and his partner were able to take him into custody. The suspect was found in possession of property belonging to JC Penney’s. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Burglary of a Building. He is identified as Junayd Howard, male, birthday 08/13/1998. The APD Burglary Unit is assigned to this case.
