1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (0800) 2500 Viva Plaza, Park District

The female victim, 28, was in an argument with the suspect. The suspect struck the victim several times with an object. When police arrived, the suspect fled on foot and into the block but was subsequently located and arrested without further incident. ARRESTED: Michael Holtz, 23, for assault with a deadly weapon.

2. Grand Theft (0906) 300 Block of Miner Avenue, Civic District

The male victim, 55, was inside a business when the suspect stole his property from him. The victim chased after the suspect, brought him to the ground, and held him until police arrived. Officers transported the suspect to an area hospital for treatment for an injury sustained. While at the hospital, the suspect kicked an Officer in the leg. ARRESTED: Manuel Avila H/M/38 of Elk Grove for grand theft, battery on an officer, and a parole violation.
