* At 836 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen mainly along and north of I-20. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Flash flooding is likely in Abilene through the morning, including streets, creeks and low water crossings. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Abilene, Merkel, Tye, Trent, Dyess Afb, Hamby, Impact and Stith. This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 252 and 292. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... Curry Lane from Clack Street to Catclaw Drive, Butternut Underpass, Texas Avenue at Arnold Boulevard, Intersections along Sammons Street, IH 20 frontage roads crossing Plum Creek, 2000 block of Oak Street, South 20th Street and Brentwood, IH 20 frontage roads crossing Bitter Creek, FM 3308 crossing Draw and US 84 frontage Road crossing Little Elm Creek.
