INCIDENT: Multi-Agency Training
LOCATION: San Bernardino Depot Train Station
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department's Victor Valley Transit Division and SWAT Team joined transportation deputies from the Arrow Route Division, and representatives from Metro Link, for a training session at the San Bernardino Depot Train Station. The training was developed to familiarize the teams with the Arrow Route trains, their functions, and operations.
The teams worked together to learn emergency response tactics, including tactically boarding trains in an emergency situation. Teams staged different scenarios on the trains and worked in groups to properly respond to and address them.
This type of training will prepare deputies to respond to critical incidents on board the trains and help ensure the safety of employees and passengers. The teams will be conducting similar training on VVTA busses in the coming months.
