Chino Hills Deputies Arrest Two Suspects After Locating Stolen Property at a Residence in Ontario

DATE/TIME: September 13, 2023/ 11:59 a.m.

INCIDENT: Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Possession of Stolen Property

LOCATION: 2300 Block of Magnolia Avenue, Ontario, Ca

SUSPECT(S): Leighton Hart, 42-year-old Resident of Ontario
                       Jesse Torralva, 31-year-old Resident of Ontario

VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY: On Monday, August 21, 2023, the victim discovered his wallet, currency, and credit cards were stolen from his vehicle. The victim received notifications of unauthorized transactions that occurred in nearby cities. One of the transactions occurred at a tire shop where four tires were purchased with the victim's credit card.

Through investigation, deputies identified the suspect, Leighton Hart, who made the unauthorized tire charge. A second unknown suspect used the victim's credit card and was later identified as Jesse Torralva.  

On September 13, 2023, at 11:59 a.m., Chino Hills Station deputies and detectives served a search warrant at Hart's residence. Torralva was also contacted at Hart's residence. During the service of the search warrant, multiple suspected stolen items were located, which included identification cards, social security cards, passports, and numerous laptops. Fifteen of the laptops were marked as property of Chaffey Joint Union High School District, Ontario High School.

Hart and Torralva were arrested without incident and interviewed by Chino Hills Station detectives. Hart and Torralva were booked at the West Valley Detention Center for PC459- Burglary, PC496(a)- Possession of Stolen Property, PC487(a)- Grand Theft, and PC484e(a)- Fraudulent Use of Credit Card.
