INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Narcotics / Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 62000 Block of Verbena Road, Joshua Tree
SUSPECT(S): Asa Huber, 35-year-old Male Resident of Joshua Tree
VICTIM(S): State of California / Mulitple Residents of Morongo Basin
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Morongo Basin Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant in the 62000 block of Verbena Road in Joshua Tree. During the service of the search warrant, Asa Hubert was contacted at the residence. Hubert has an extensive criminal history and is a convicted felon. Huber was found in posession of a loaded ghost gun, powdered fentanyl, fentanyl pills and drug paraphenelia.
Inside the residence 40 guitars were also located along with four violins. Deputies recognized the instruments as reported stolen porperty from multiple locations within the Morongo Basin jurisdiction. The detective bureau is in the process of contacting the victims from whom the instruments were stolen. Huber was arrested and booked in at the Morongo Basin Jail.
