Safety Tips

As students make their way to and from school, it is always a good idea for them to focus on their surroundings and personal safety.   The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department would like to take this opportunity to ask parents to speak with their children and encourage them to take the necessary precautions to stay safe:

  • Always walk or bike with other students.
  • Be alert to what is happening and who is around you.
  • Never go near a stranger's car.
  • Never accept rides from a stranger.
  • If a stranger attempts to contact you, engage you in conversation, makes you come with them or makes you feel uncomfortable, scream, and run away.  Find an adult you know and report what happened immediately.
  • Be cognizant of your surroundings. Keep your head “on a swivel,” which means look around you, not just in front of you.
The safety and security of our students is our top priority and working together, we can provide safe environments for them.  Thank you for your support and assistance as we continue to work hard to keep all our students safe.
