Flood Advisory until 10:00AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Brown, Coleman, Concho, Crockett, Kimble, McCulloch, Menard, Schleicher, Sutton and Tom Green.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 807 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain is expected. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Coleman, Eldorado, Menard, Santa Anna, Ozona, Eden, Bangs, Melvin, Fort Mckavett, Millersview, Salt Gap, Doole, Ivie Reservoir Near Concho Park Marina, Stacy, Leaday, Pear Valley, Lohn, Voss, Waldrip and Gouldbusk. - This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 362 and 380. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... FM-RD 136 crossing Hords Creek, Decker St. crossing San Saba River, Toe Nail crossing San Saba River, FM 0503 crossing Waloope Creek, FM 1176 crossing Sweetie Creek, County Road 348 crossing Bull Creek, County Road 300 crossing Home Creek, County Road 258 crossing Home Creek, County Road 222 crossing Home Creek and crossings along County Road 302. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
