Fatal Motorcycle Crash 
On 09-16-23 at about 2:55 pm, the Janesville Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Garfield Av for a traffic accident with injuries involving two motorcycles. The initial investigation revealed a group of motorcycles were traveling southbound on South Garfield Avenue from East Court Street.
The driver of one motorcycle struck a legally parked vehicle while traveling southbound. The driver of a second motorcycle struck the motorcycle which was in the roadway from the initial crash. One rider from the motorcycle group remained at the crash scene. One motorcycle driver died as a result of injuries from the crash and a second was treated and released from a local hospital. The names of the drivers will not be released pending notification of the family.
The intersection was closed due to a reconstruction investigator on scene.
No further information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
