Deputies Locate and Arrest Four Suspects After Responding to a Call of an Armed Robbery in Needles

DATE/TIME:  Saturday, September 16, 2023, at approximately 1:40 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 211(A) - Armed Robbery

LOCATION: Rite-Aid, 1020 E. Broadway Street, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Franshay Moore, 33-years-old, Resident of Los Angeles
                        Ashanti Hill, 26-years-old, Resident of Los Angeles
                        Makalila Young, 22-years-old, Resident of Los Angeles 
                        Ajanae Travis, 28-years-old, Resident of Las Vegas

VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL


SUMMARY: On Saturday, September 16, 2023, at approximately 1:40 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at the Rite-Aid store in Needles.

Deputies arrived on scene and learned suspects entered the store and loaded in excess of $1,000 in store merchandise into bags. The suspects presented electronic weapons and threatened to harm store employees before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.  

Deputies located the getaway vehicle a short distance from the scene and conducted a high risk traffic stop. The four suspects were taken into custody without incident. The stolen merchandise was recovered from the suspect vehicle during the investigation and returned to the Rite-Aid store. 

Franshay Moore, Ashanti Hill, Ajanae Travis, and Makalila Young were subsequently arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC 211 - Armed Robbery. All Suspects remain in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
