Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to August burglary:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to an August burglary.
On August 23, at approximately 2:27 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1400 block of East 29th Street, in reference to a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who advised a subject armed with a handgun had forced his way into their residence. The case was assigned to Detective Anthony Ford of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Ford identified 33-year-old Jose Principe as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On September 13, Principe was taken into custody without incident.
Principe has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Offensive Touching
