TRAFFIC IMPACT ADVISORY FOR SATURDAY, 9/23
This Saturday evening, September 23rd at 7pm, Bay Area Cruise Night is returning to San Mateo. Potentially, there will be 3,000 cars repeatedly cruising up and down the El Camino from 3rd Ave. to Hillsdale Shopping Center for several hours, impacting the flow of traffic. If you are not participating in the event, please plan to take an alternate route to avoid travel delays.
All vehicles are expected to obey all traffic laws and SMPD will be out there to ensure safety for all pedestrians, spectators, participants, and other drivers.
Spectators are expected to remain on sidewalks, avoid spilling into the roadways, use crosswalks, avoid littering, respect private property, and no public intoxication.
Participants SHOULD NOT perform burnouts or doughnuts, speed, drive recklessly, allow passengers to lean out windows or stand up in beds of trucks..., drive impaired, or perform any dangerous maneuvers. We'd hate to ruin this event for anyone by having to take enforcement actions, so let's all do our part and work together to ensure this annual event continues.
