Upcoming Road Closure
The Redwood City Police Department would like to bring to your attention an important infrastructure project that will impact our city's transportation system.
Caltrans has scheduled the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 101 for a total of two weekend closures to facilitate the replacement of the aging Cordilleras Creek Bridge. This bridge has reached the end of its service life and must be replaced.
The first closure is scheduled for the southbound lanes of Highway 101 from September 29th to October 2nd, with a weekend full freeway closure lasting from 10:00 PM on Friday night to 5:00 AM on Monday morning.
The second closure for the northbound lanes of Highway 101 is planned for October 13th to 16th, following the same weekend full freeway closure schedule. While these closures may cause temporary inconveniences, we appreciate your understanding and patience as this critical infrastructure project is carried out.
During these closures, the Redwood City Police Department's Motor Unit will be actively patrolling the affected areas. Their presence is crucial to assist with traffic-related issues and ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the area.
We kindly ask all community members and commuters to exercise caution, adhere to traffic laws, and be aware of increased traffic enforcement during these weekends. Together, we can contribute to a safer and more efficient transportation system for our city and the broader region.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to enhance the safety and functionality of our community's infrastructure.
