Draft Hoboken Housing Authority Redevelopment Plan available for public comment

The City of Hoboken today published the draft Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) Redevelopment Plan for public review and comment, following over six months of community outreach and engagement activities.

The draft HHA Redevelopment Plan establishes a framework for the phased redevelopment of all HHA properties. The Plan requires the replacement or substantial rehabilitation of the existing 1,354 HHA units and includes the provision of significant improvements to the neighborhood’s infrastructure, circulation updates, recreational amenities and open spaces, and allows for additional non-HHA units (with a 15% affordable and 10% workforce housing set aside).

"My administration is committed to increasing our affordable housing stock as well as improving the quality of life for our current residents, and I am proud this plan will help us achieve both goals. This also advances our commitment to working with the Hoboken Housing Authority to transform the HHA campus with modern, safe buildings, ample community amenities and open spaces, and resilient infrastructure that HHA residents and their neighbors deserve," said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. "I encourage our community to provide feedback to my office and let us know what you think."

Community members are encouraged to submit any questions, comments, or feedback on the draft HHA Redevelopment Plan via email at [email protected] by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
