INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Amargosa Road and Bear Valley Road
SUSPECT(S): Nicalas Gray, 20-year-old resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY: On Thursday, September 14, 2023, at about 9:58pm, a deputy with the Victorville station initiated a traffic stop on a red Chevy Cavalier for a vehicle code violation. The driver, Nicalas Gray, failed to yield to the traffic stop and led the deputy on a short pursuit, south on Amargosa Road, and through the parking lot of a shopping center at Amargosa Road and Bear Valley Road. Gray abandoned his vehicle in the parking lot and fled on foot into a business. Deputies set up a perimeter around the business and located Gray in a dumpster at the rear of the building.
Gray was found to be a convicted felon and had a no bail arrest warrant. A loaded firearm was in the driver’s side door of the vehicle Gray had been driving. Gray was taken into custody and booked at High Desert Detention Center.
