Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to three armed robberies:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to three armed robberies.
On September 4, at approximately 8:21 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 600 block of Concord Avenue, in reference to an armed robbery. On September 8, at approximately 4:22 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2600 block of Northeast Boulevard, in reference to an attempted armed robbery. Both cases were assigned to Detectives James Rook and Justin Wilkers of the Criminal Investigations Division.
On September 10, at approximately 10:02 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2600 block of Northeast Boulevard, in reference to an attempted armed robbery. Responding officers provided a subject description and direction of travel to units in the area. Members of the Uniformed Services Division observed a subject matching the description in the 2800 block of Bowers Street, and made contact with 19-year-old Benjamin Sheppard who was taken into custody without incident. Following an investigation, officers recovered a .40 caliber handgun.
Sheppard has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Attempted Robbery (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Aggravated Menacing
