Officers responded to a suspicious incident of a subject that rang a Simi Valley resident's doorbell and then hid in the bushes. When an officer arrived on scene, he heard two gunshots in the area. The officer observed a subject crawling out from under some bushes with a firearm in his hand. Officers detained the subject without incident. The investigation revealed the subject was under the influence of alcohol and thought intruders were in his residence. Officer's located evidence of multiple rounds fired within the subjects residence and garage from his own firearm. Officers also located a bullet hole in a neighbor's parked vehicle in the driver's side door and a bullet hole in the neighbors garage. Officer's determined there were no intruders in the residence and the subject negligently fired multiple rounds from his own weapon. Gary Laskowski 63 year old Simi Valley resident was booked at Ventura County Main Jail for 246.3 PC - Gross negligence discharge of a firearm.
