SUSPECT(S): Daniel Aaron Diaz, 31-year-old resident of Indio
Eileen Herrera, 33-year-year-old resident of Indio

SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 17, 2023, Deputy T. Harlacker conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Liberty on SR-62 (Twentynine Palms Hwy), near Fobes Road in the unincorporated community of Morongo Valley. Deputies contacted Daniel Aaron Diaz and Eileen Herrera in the Jeep. They were found to be in possession of a loaded, .25-auto caliber pistol and methamphetamine.
Diaz and Herrera were arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail. On Monday, September 21st, 2023, Diaz pled 'no contest' to one count of HS 11370.1(a) and was sentenced to two years felony probation. He was released the same day. Herrera pled guilty to one count of HS 11370.1(a) and was sentenced to 30 days jail and two years of felony probation.
