Changes at Janesville Police Department 
Due to the retirement of Chief David Moore, two police leaders have been appointed to command positions.
Deputy Chief Chad Pearson is appointed to the position of Acting Police Chief. Acting Chief Pearson is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the police department.
Lieutenant Mark Ratzlaff is appointed to the position of Acting Deputy Police Chief. Acting Deputy Chief Ratzlaff is responsible for operations which includes patrol operations.
Deputy Chief Todd Kleisner will remain in charge of support services.
The Police and Fire Commission is conducting a search for a new police chief.
