Highway 73 through Nekoosa to Hwy 54 will be closed the morning of Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 due to a Hazmat Training Exercise. 
On Tuesday September 26th, 2023 between the hours of 7:30am and 12:00pm, Wood County Dispatch advises you to AVOID this Location due to a Training incident. A TRAINING scenario near ERCO Worldwide will close State Highway 73 (North of the Bridge) and State Highway 54 in Port Edwards. It will require a detour of traffic. Fortunetly, the Railroad Tracks on Market St in Nekoosa are now open allowing the detour to run on Highway 173. Local Traffic and Travel to the City of Nekoosa will be available but be aware that State Highway 73 will be COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN between Wilhorn Rd and State Highway 54. A map with clousres and detour is included.
