Police Seek Help Identifying Theft Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured female suspect in connection with a theft that occurred on Monday, September 25, 2023.
At approximately 11:05 a.m., a shopper inside a store in the 100 block of Ferry Street observed a cell phone placed on a display case by a store employee. The store’s surveillance cameras show that the shopper then took the phone, placed it in her right-hand coat pocket, continued shopping, paid for her selected items, and left the store taking the employee’s cell phone, a blue Cricket Magic Android.
The suspect was wearing a wearing a gray winter coat, a black shirt, black pants, white sneakers, red glasses, and a pink headband.
