On September 26, 2023, at approximately 0528 hours, Camarillo Police Station deputies were dispatched to a 911 hang-up at the 7-Eleven located at 255 Carmen Drive. Upon arrival, deputies identified and confirmed that an attempted robbery had occurred. Evidence gathered at the scene showed a male demand money and threaten to shoot the victim while reaching his hand toward his waistband. Before the deputies arrived, the suspect left the store on foot without taking anything. Additional information was gathered that indicated the suspect was staying at Motel 6 located at 1641 East Daily Drive. A search warrant was authored and obtained for the motel room associated with the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody for attempted robbery as he left the hotel room. During the arrest, the suspect was identified as a juvenile and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. In addition, further evidence from the crime was located at the scene. The male juvenile was lodged at the Juvenile Justice Center for PC 664/211 – Attempted Robbery, PC 29610(a) - Minor in Possession of Handgun, PC – Minor in Possession of Ammunition, PC 27545 – Unlawful Firearm Transfer, PC 25850(a) – Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public, and PC 25400(a)(2) – Carrying a Concealed Firearm. In addition, two adult females associated to the hotel room and suspect, were arrested for narcotic related charges and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. (S) Marsela Barboza was arrested for violation of HS 11375(b)(2) -Possession of a Controlled Substance. (S) Georgina Ramirez-Robledo was arrested for violations of HS 11375(b)(2) -Possession of a Controlled Substance, HS 11550(A) – Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, and PC 272(a)(1) -Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Both females were booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact the Camarillo Investigations Bureau at 805-388-5100. The Camarillo Police Department and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office encourage witnesses to notify the Sheriff’s Communication Center at 805-654-9511 or 911 of any suspected illegal activity they witness so deputies can investigate these matters as soon as they happen. |
