Robbery From Macy’s Result in Arrest
 
A suspect stole from Macy’s, threatened a Loss Prevention Agent with a stun gun and fled the scene.  Officers located and arrested the suspect. 
 
San Mateo, CA – On September 26, 2023, at 7:34 p.m., Antonio Aguilar Barrios stole hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from Macy’s, located at the Hillsdale Shopping Center.  Barrios failed to pay for the items and was confronted by a Macy’s Loss Prevention agent upon leaving the store.  Barrios threatened the Loss Prevention Agent with a stun gun and fled the mall.           
 
Several officers responded to the area searching for the suspect.  Within minutes, officers located a suspect matching the description in the area of Colegrove Street and 36th Avenue. A witness later confirmed he was the person who threatened the agent and stole the items.  The merchandise from Macy’s was recovered, and Barrios was arrested without incident.  He was booked into San Mateo County Jail for robbery.   
 
The San Mateo Police Department was able to locate and arrest Barrios due to the quick reporting of this crime and the accurate information provided to the police department. Macy’s Loss Prevention agents’ cooperation and assistance were invaluable in this successful resolution.
