Fairfield Police Respond to, Investigate Reports of Shots Fired at Pear Tree Lane

At around 4:08 pm on Tuesday, September 26th, Dispatch received reports of several shots fired in the area of Pear Tree Lane.

Shortly thereafter, a 17-year-old male walked into a local hospital, suffering from gunshot wounds. His injuries were not life threatening.

Fairfield Police officers responded to the incident scene, where witnesses claimed to have seen three teenagers flee into a nearby home on Orange Tree Way shortly after the shooting.

A perimeter was established and K9 announcements were made. One person surrendered at the rear of the home after seeing K9 Bosco, and a second person exited from the home’s front door.

The two who surrendered, both male minors aged 14, were taken into custody. They will not be named due to their age and were eventually released to their parents as there was insufficient evidence to charge them.

As it was believed a third involved party might still be inside, a warrant was obtained and Vacaville SWAT deployed to provide mutual aid. At around 9:40 pm, the home was cleared and no other persons were found inside. The weapon used in the shooting, a 9 mm firearm, remains outstanding.

Our thanks to Vacaville Police Department for their assistance as our SWAT unit is currently  in training. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.
