| Narrative: |
Thousand Oaks, Calif. – On September 21st, 2023, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held on Erbes Rd. east of Lemonberry Pl. from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am.
A total of 102 drivers were contacted. 2 drivers were cited for operating a motor vehicle with driver’s license violations and 2 other drivers were cited for miscellaneous vehicle code violations. One driver, (S) Richard Mantor, was arrested for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
