Camarillo Coffee with a Cop Media Release

Nature of Incident: Coffee with a Cop
Location: Starbucks, 4511 Las Posas Road
Date & Time: October 4, 2023 from 8:00 am – 10:00 am
Unit(s) Responsible: Community Resources Unit
Narrative:
The Camarillo Police Department is proud to announce a Coffee with a Cop event on “National Coffee with a Cop Day.” Coffee with a Cop brings deputies, volunteers, and community members together over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, crime prevention, and needs of the community.

On Wednesday 10/4/2023, from 8:00 am - 10:00 am, members of the Camarillo Police Department and Camarillo Citizens Patrol will be at Starbucks located at 4511 Las Posas Road.  Crime prevention and community partnerships are key elements to the success of the Camarillo Police Department.  By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies, volunteers, and the community members we serve can continue growing together.

The Camarillo Police Department has long experienced strong partnerships with citizen volunteers from the community.  The Camarillo Citizens Patrol (CCP) is a crime prevention program that exercises pro-active law enforcement principles.  Members conduct supplemental patrols, vacation house checks and report suspicious activity to deputies on patrol.  We know that more eyes to the street reduces criminal activity, and the Camarillo Citizens Patrol is looking for more new volunteers to join the program.  CCP members will be on-hand to share more information with the public regarding the CCP program.

The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank Starbucks for their continued partnership.  These events will continue at various local businesses throughout the year.

Building relationships – one cup at a time.
