The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for our area beginning at midnight tonight.  An approaching weather system is expected to bring heavy rainfall beginning late tonight through late Friday night.  Currently, rainfall amounts of 4" or more are expected in the Morris County area.  As a result, we anticipate the potential for flooding in low lying areas with poor drainage and along creeks and streams.  There is also the potential for river flooding.

Residents who live in flood prone areas should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.  Additional Nixle messages will be disseminated regarding any flooding and necessary road closures.  As a reminder, please obey all road closed signs and DO NOT drive through any flooded roadways.

In anticipation of expected flooding, the Lower Bloomfield Parking Lot will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 29th.  All commuters and any others who would normally park in the Lower Bloomfield Parking Lot should park in the 3-hour parking spaces in the Upper Bloomfield Parking Lot (spaces designated by white parking stalls).  The 3-hour limit in the upper parking lot will not be enforced while the lower parking lot is closed.  This closure is to prevent the potential of any vehicles becoming flooded or having to be towed.
