Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Keith E. Johnson, 51, of Newark, in connection with a business burglary that occurred on Monday, September 18, 2023.
 
Police responded to Sunshine Halal Restaurant, located at South Munn Avenue near South Orange Avenue, on a call of a burglary. At approximately 11:20 p.m. a male suspect used pliers to cut the bottom portion of the front entrance. The suspect then stole two cash registers containing approximately $700.00 from the establishment.
 
Detectives investigating this incident identified Johnson as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
