Bernard Garvin, who was wanted for charges related to a Hilton Head Island shooting, is in custody
31-year-old Bernard Garvin is in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center, charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person.
Garvin was wanted for the June 9, 2023 shooting of a woman at Hilton Head Gardens Apartments, 11 Southwood Park Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC. He then pointed the firearm at another person before fleeing the area.
The victim of the shooting was treated for a gunshot wound to her head and later released from a Savannah area hospital.
Garvin was arrested in Stockbridge, Ga on September 26, 2023, by agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Stockbridge Police Department.
He waived extradition and was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center earlier today, September 29, 2023 where he is incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing.
