JCMUA project and weekend events to impact Hoboken traffic
Hoboken traffic to be impacted by long term JCMUA project
The Jersey City Municipal Utility Authority (JCMUA) will begin a water main replacement project along Marin Boulevard between 18th Street and Observer Highway on Tuesday, Oct. 3. This is expected to impact traffic heading into and out of the southern end of Hoboken.
The project will close Marin Boulevard from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. on weekdays from Oct. 3 through February of 2024. Partial closures of Observer Highway and 18th Street are scheduled to begin in November. Drivers are encouraged to use Grove Street or Jersey Avenue or northern routes into and out of Hoboken during work hours.
Hoboken Arts & Music Festival
The Hoboken Fall Arts & Music Festival is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Washington Street between Observer Highway and Eighth Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be restrictions on surrounding streets as well. Please abide by all parking signs and traffic barriers. The New Jersey Transit #126 bus will be diverted to alternate routes during the festival.

First Street Sundays
First Street will be closed to vehicles between Washington and Garden Streets this Sunday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. for the weekly Hoboken Business Alliance’s “First Street Sundays.” The road will be closed every Sunday at the same times through Oct. 22. Hoboken Police Officers will be on hand to assist with traffic control. Drivers are asked to abide by all posted signage.
