Advisory

Flood Advisory until 9:00PM tonight.

* WHAT...Mostly minor flooding caused by runoff from excessive rainfall that impacted small rivers and streams is still occurring.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following county, Bergen. Portions of southeast New York, including the following county, Rockland.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing of poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 600 PM EDT, Gauge reports continue to indicate flooding in the advisory area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. This has resulted in elevated stream flows for rivers and streams. - Water levels are expected to gradually fall in the next few hours for the faster responding rivers and streams. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hackensack, New City, Bergenfield, Monsey, Nanuet, Ridgefield, Nyack, Tappan, Fort Lee, Englewood, Pearl River, Oradell, Norwood, Orangeburg, Pomona, Upper Nyack, Teaneck, Spring Valley, Cliffside Park and Palisades Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
