Hoboken State of Emergency lifted; Clean-up underway; Discounted parking ends at 8 p.m.

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the Office of Emergency Management have lifted the State of Emergency for the City of Hoboken. Residents are asked to continue to monitor local forecasts as the National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Hudson County until 1 p.m. tomorrow. 

Storm clean-up continues

Crews with the City’s Environmental Services Department, and the Hoboken Fire Department, continue to clean debris from streets and sidewalks left behind after floodwaters receded. Roads may be blocked for short periods of time during this process. Please adhere to closures to allow crews to work safely. 

Fire Department Calls 

During the storm, the Hoboken Fire Department responded to 46 calls for service. This included multiple calls for vehicles stuck in floodwaters, and three rescues of individuals who got stuck in their vehicles, after driving through floodwaters. As a reminder, do not drive or walk through floodwaters and do not go around barricades placed in flood-prone areas during any rain event.

Discounted parking to end at 8 p.m.  

The City’s discounted parking rates will end at 8 p.m. tonight. Residents are reminded to move their cars from the participating garage by 8 p.m. Regular rates will apply after that time.  

City cancellation reminders 

A reminder that the City’s waste container distribution is cancelled for today, a new date will be announced in the coming days.  

All City recreation programs are also cancelled today.
