PURSUIT OF BURGLARY SUSPECTS
On October 1, 2023, at approximately 3:05 am a resident called the Simi Valley Police Department and reported a commercial burglary in progress at 1869 Royal Ave. The reporting party indicated that a 4 door black sedan with no license plate, occupied by three subjects was parked and backed into the business. The suspects broke the front glass of the shop and entered the business.
As SVPD units arrived on scene, the suspect vehicle fled the area. Moments later, an SVPD unit located the suspect vehicle eastbound on the 118 Freeway. The suspect vehicle failed to yield to the officers and a pursuit ensued. The suspects lead the officers on a pursuit into the City of Los Angeles. The suspects exited at Getty Center Dr. and fled on foot in the area of the 1000 block of Moraga Dr. SVPD units set up a perimeter and requested the assistance of the Los Angeles Police Department. Both agencies coordinated to contain the area and initiated a search for the suspects with the aid of the LAPD airship and K9 units.
The search concluded with the apprehension of two suspects, Anthony Perry (21 years old) and Jose Padron Jr. (23 years old), both residents of the City of Los Angeles.
Mr. Perry and Mr. Padron were arrested for 459 PC –Burglary, 2800.2 CVC- Reckless Evading, 182 PC- Conspiracy, and 148 PC- Resisting Arrest and were later booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
