Statement concerning Tryon Water & Drought Conditions: The town administration has been contacted concerning the current drought conditions that are affecting Polk and surrounding counties. We are concerned about the lack of rain as of late - but optimistic that the next few days will bring an enhanced chance of rain. Currently Polk County is under D0 (Abnormally Dry) conditions (per the NC Drought Management Advisory Council, www.ncdrought.org).
 
 We would simply ask citizens to use good judgement with current water consumption.  Our Public Works department keeps a constant check on this and keeps the Town Manager informed. In turn the council is apprised as much as possible. Important notices to our citizens will be distributed through our local media outlets as well as the Town's social media sites.
