Stabbing at Local Community Center Results in Three Suspects Arrested
 
A physical fight occurred resulting in one victim being stabbed; three suspects arrested.    
 
San Mateo, CA – On September 30, 2023, at 10:19 p.m., several San Mateo Police officers responded to a report of a fight at Martin Luther King Community Center, located at 725 Monte Diablo Avenue.  Officers arrived on scene locating a victim suffering from a stab wound.  Immediate medical attention was provided to the victim. 
 
The investigation revealed the incident was the result of a physical fight that escalated, ultimately leading to the stabbing.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 
 
Swift action by officers resulted in the apprehension of three suspects in connection with the incident.  All three suspects, Oliver Martinez Mendez, Sergio Pereira, and Jose Guillen Martinez were arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.

245(a)(1) PC- Assault with a deadly weapon.  182(a)(1) PC- Conspiracy to commit a crime.

Oliver Martinez Mendez, 21-year-old San Mateo resident
CHARGES:
242 PC- Battery.  182(a)(1) PC- Conspiracy to commit a crime. 
 
ARRESTED
Sergio Pereira, 24-year-old San Mateo resident
CHARGES:
242 PC- Battery.  182(a)(1) PC- Conspiracy to commit a crime.
