Sheriffs Homicide investigators along with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office responded to the California aqueduct on 195th St. West and West Avenue G, in the city of Lancaster regarding a deceased male that was discovered under a bridge.
Investigators have positively identified the body as Minas Khacheryan who was reported missing by family on Friday, September 29. His last known whereabouts was fishing at the aqueduct with his brother Grigor, who is still reported as a missing person.
The search for Grigor will resume Tuesday morning at 7 AM by Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Services Detail. Approximately two dozen divers will be utilizing sonar, and the aqueduct water flow will be controlled to facilitate the search. The cause of death of Minas is pending and will be determined by the Los Angeles County Corner’s Office. At this time, no foul play suspected.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Missing Persons Unit investigators are asking for the public’s help locating At Risk Missing Person Minas Khacheryan. He is an 86-year-old male Other who was last seen on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., on the 1000 block of East Chevy Chase Drive in the city of Glendale.
Minas is 5’04” tall, 180 lbs., gray balding hair, blue eyes, and a goatee.
Mr. Khacheryan is missing his left eye and suffers from a medical heart condition.
He was last seen with his brother Grigor Khacheryan (also missing). Grigor is a 78-year-old male, Other 5’05” tall, 140 lbs., gray short/balding hair, and brown eyes.
Their family is concerned for their well-being and asking for your help.
