Special Weather Statement until 12:15AM Wednesday
As of 2300Z or 3:00 PM AKDT Tuesday afternoon, satellite imagery detected an ongoing plume of ash from the recent eruption of Shishaldin. This ash plume is drifting southwest just south of Unimak, Akutan, and Unalaska Islands. As winds turn more southerly through the evening, this ash could move north across those islands. Trace amounts of ashfall are possible for the communities of Akutan, and Unalaska. This statement will be updated if conditions change.
