The McDowell County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting search operations in the area of Ashworth Rd and Interstate 40 for a possible armed suspect. The Sheriff's Office is looking for Joseph Andrew Hartwell Jr., 50 years of age, white male. Please keep your doors locked and if you witness any suspious activity call 911.
