Public Advisory: No Smoking on Haledon Recreational Facilities & Parks In compliance with 336-2 of the Haledon Municipal Code, the Haledon Police Department would like to inform the public that smoking is strictly prohibited on any property owned, leased, controlled, or utilized by the Borough of Haledon, or authorized organizations for recreational activities. This includes all Haledon recreational facilities such as parks, as well as areas immediately adjacent to these facilities, including parking lots. We would like to emphasize the following points: Smoking, which includes burning, inhaling, exhaling smoke from, or possessing a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, or any other tobacco or smoking substance, is strictly prohibited at all times in Haledon recreational facilities, including parks. Violation Consequences: - First-time offenders will face a fine of $250 upon conviction. - Repeat offenders, convicted for a second or subsequent violation, will face a fine ranging from $250 to $2,000 and/or imprisonment in the county jail for up to 90 days. Enforcement: The Haledon Police Department will be enforcing this regulation to ensure compliance and uphold the safety and well-being of all visitors to our recreational facilities, including parks. We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to this smoking prohibition as it helps create a clean and healthy environment for everyone, especially our youth. Your efforts contribute to the enjoyment and well-being of all individuals utilizing Haledon recreational facilities. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. #Haledon
