Incident Summary:
 
On October 5th, 2023, at approximately 3:33 AM, a Petaluma Police officer contacted Michael Galli of Claremont, who was walking in the 4000 block of Petaluma Boulevard North.
 
Galli showed to have a Sonoma County warrant issued for his arrest due to a probation violation.  Furthermore, Galli was still on Sonoma County Probation with a search and seizure clause permitting officers to search his person and his property. During a search of Galli’s backpack, a loaded Smith &Wesson, .38 caliber handgun was located.  Galli was also found to be in possession of 27 additional rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, a Billy club, suspected methamphetamine, and the associated drug paraphernalia.        
Galli was transported to and booked at Sonoma County’s Main Adult Detention Facility for violation of 25850 (A) PC - Carry loaded firearm in a public place, 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of a firearm, 22210 PC – Possession of a baton, 11370.1(a) H&S - Possess a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, 11364(a) H&S – Possession of drug paraphernalia, and for the outstanding Sonoma County Arrest Warrant.
