Operation "You Tried It" nets another employee/contractor for criminal activity: SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN
Yesterday, Sheriff's Correctional Officer Desiree Lowery crossed the Sheriff's Guard line and attempted to enter the Clayton County Jail with contraband. Officer Lowery was stopped by an on-duty supervisor, became nervous, and attempted to make her getaway.
Today, Officer Desiree Lowery was immediately terminated from employment with the Sheriff's Office and arrested at her former place of work.
Desiree Lowery exchanged her employee badge number for an Inmate LE number, exchanged her Officer title for an Inmate title, exchanged her blue uniform for an orange uniform, and exchanged her clean record for four felony charges.
SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN has personally met with each new-hire class since becoming Sheriff and, before administering "the oath of office," he explained that there will be a culture change at the Sheriff's Office under his administration.
SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN will continue to fight for improvements at the Jail and for safer and cleaner streets in Clayton County as a whole.
Since becoming Sheriff, we have made 3,275 arrests (including 7 employees/contractors) and cleaned over 300 tons of trash off the Clayton County streets.
