INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Foothill Boulevard / Mayten Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM(S): 28-year-old-male, resident of San Bernardino, name withheld pending next-of-kin notification
SUMMARY: On October 8, 2023, at 5:50 a.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to Foothill Boulevard, east of Mayten Avenue, for a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a pick-up truck.
Witnesses reported the pedestrian was lying in the #1 eastbound lane of Foothill before being struck by a small Toyota truck. Despite life-saving efforts by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Members of the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station, Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
