INCIDENT: Felony Driving Under the Influence
LOCATION: 35000 block of Wildwood Canyon Road, Yucaipa, CA
SUSPECT(S): Fabiola Pacheco, 36 year-old resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): Confidential Male
SUMMARY: On Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:31 p.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle rollover accident on Wildwood Canyon Road, west of California Street. Sergeant J. Wilson, Sergeant. R. Ford, Deputies W. Ziemer, A. Bremer, K. Smit, A. Rew, and P. Tormey responded, along with rescue personnel from Yucaipa Fire Department and American Medical Response.
Upon arrival, deputies found three adults standing outside the vehicle and one male trapped inside, needing immediate medical attention. The Yucaipa Fire Department extricated the trapped passenger and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies S. Theis and P. Tormey with the Yucaipa Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) assumed the investigation. Initial investigation revealed the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Wildwood Canyon Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, hit the north curb-line of Wildwood Canyon Road, skidded, rolled and came to rest upside down. The driver, Fabiola Pacheco, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for felony driving under the influence.
Wildwood Canyon Road was closed to traffic from 11:30 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., while the investigation was underway.
